Questions we get asked
Do I have to take both the website and the dashboard?
No. They’re sold separately and work separately. Plenty of caterers come to us with a site they like and only want the dashboard behind it. Others want the site built and add the dashboard later.
I already have a website. What actually has to change?
One link. We give you a muntry enquiry link and you point your existing contact form or “check a date” button at it. Nothing else on your site is touched, and we don’t need access to it. If you’d rather keep your current form, we can take its submissions by email instead.
Who owns the website when it’s built?
You do. The domain, the content and the site itself. If you ever want to move it elsewhere, you take it with you. We don’t hold your site hostage to a monthly fee.
How does the money reach me?
Payments go to your own bank account through the payment provider connected to your muntry account. muntry never holds your money, and card fees are the provider’s standard rates — we don’t add a margin on those. Our own fee is 0.5% of each invoice you generate through muntry, on top of the $20 a month.
What is the 0.5%?
It’s our share of the work the dashboard does for you. Every invoice you generate through muntry carries a 0.5% fee on its value — $5 on a $1,000 job. Quotes and enquiries are free, and if you invoice nothing in a month you pay nothing but the $20.
Can I take a deposit to hold a date?
Yes. Send a deposit invoice when the quote is accepted and the balance after the event. Both sit on the same booking, so the board always shows what’s still owing on a date.
How long does a website take?
A first draft you can look at within a week of our call, and live in two to three weeks. The slow part is usually food photos and the details only you can confirm, so the more of that you have ready, the faster it goes.
Do you only work with catering businesses?
Catering is what muntry is built around, so the enquiry forms, quotes and invoices already speak in head counts, dietaries and event dates. That said, we’re open to adapting it for other small service businesses — if the way you quote and invoice looks similar, get in touch and we’ll talk it through.
How new is this?
New, and we’d rather say so. muntry is early and taking on a small number of pilot kitchens at the $20 price. It’s month to month, so if it isn’t doing what you need, you cancel. There’s no contract on the dashboard.
